| Hello, Ladies and Gentlemen this is Geeky Panda, and i'm bringing you what I hope to be a very helpful and informative guide on a confusing thing for newcomers. Non-Combat Skills. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Non Combat Skills. NCS, for short. What are they? Basically, anything and almost everything not involving combat. Directly under your inventory there should be a button that says Non-Combat Skills. If you click it, a window appears showing all of your skills. All seven of them.
Mining. Smelting. Blacksmithing. Fishing. Cooking. Woodcutting. Crafting. ------------------------------------------------------------- Mining. To be a successful miner, you require a pickaxe, which can be randomly spawned when you create your character, or created by another player.
Once you have your pickaxe, get out there and find a suitable mineral vein to start mining from. Double-Click the vein and you will begin to harvest the ores inside, slowly raising your mining skill and giving you materials. Over time, the better mining skill you get the better kinds of ore you can harvest without destroying the vein. ------------------------------------------------------------- Smelting. To become a good smelter, you need a lot of raw ores, and a hefty amount of time on your hands. While you have no weapons equipped, Double-Click a forge and you'll be able to start smelting, given you have the required minerals, you'll be rewarded for your efforts with bars. The better the smelter the better the bar. ------------------------------------------------------------- Blacksmithing. A good Blacksmith always has a hammer equipped on him, and a few bars of metal to spare. Once you've raised your skill a bit, you begin to create better items from what you've created. A blacksmith needs to use an anvil to smith anything. Double-Click it with only a hammer equipped, (And your clothes, silly ducklings), and given you have the bars necessary to make something, you can go ahead and make it. Simple, right? ------------------------------------------------------------- Woodcutting. Not really too much to explain here. Approach a tree with an axe equipped, double-click the tree and start getting logs. The tree will eventually run out of logs, and higher quality trees give higher quality logs, in this order, greatest to least. Hamaboufuu. Cherrywood. Oak. ------------------------------------------------------------- Crafting. While you have a dagger or knife equipped,(Whatever you want to call them), Double-Click a log in your inventory and pick a selection from the pop-up to begin creating it. The higher your skill, the better the item. Quite easy. ------------------------------------------------------------- Fishing. While you're out in the water, you can face a pool of fish and Click on it, and you'll begin to fish. A fishing rod will -aid- you in fishing, but you do not require one. The better your fishing skill the better your catch. ------------------------------------------------------------- Cooking. The simplest of all the skills. With an inventory full of raw fish, head over to a cooking pit and start cookin'. The more you do so, the better your cooking tastes, and the more it refills your hunger bar. -------------------------------------------------------------
This is a rather short guide that needs improvement in some places, but none-the-less, it's more than enough for a new-comer to understand all of the concepts stated here. This is the Geeky Panda, and i've left my bottle of Vodka on a roof. Wish me luck.
