Hey all!

Been a while since I bothered posting here, since there was absolutely nothing I could do to revive the game from the state in which it was left. That has since changed, and I now have access to the means to better the game, and bring it to the state in which it was originally meant to be played.

I do hope regulars and newbies alike welcome the changes I plan to bring, and continue to …

SPECIAL GUIDE: Introducing Japanese In IC Icon_minitimeFri Nov 25, 2011 3:59 am by AllSmiles
Hello, faithful Ikou Era players. I am sorry for being so inactive to the production of Ikou Era, me slowing down with updates had affected all of us. I doubt, I can make it up for your patience and your unbreakable loyalty to someone that had been made by my brain. Ikou Era is my first original project and it is one of the most proudest work I had done, this project was the result of my …

Here Slash again with another Boring guide about IE, mostly tips....Zzz -.-. *wakes up* O_O ! EM well lets start.

This search to increase range in the "RP" players can develop, taking advantage of the special feutures in this game. Since this takes action into japan, why not learning some japanese?

You see knowing basic words will help you, specialy if roleplaying with people that understands it. It is better to add few words on youre text so that players still understand however, if you´re rping with somone that gets to know and reply to does sentences, then you´re welcome to do it.

First of all we have: Konnichiwa= hello (afternoon period).
Ohayou= Hello (morning)
Konbanwa= Hello (Night)
Sayonara=Good bye.
Arigatou= thank you.
Wakarimasu= Understand.
Wakarimasen= Don´t understand.
Hajimemashite=Nice to meet you.
Namae= Name.
Iie= No.
Hai= Yes.
Chotto= A little bit.
Oi= Hey (when calling somone so they put attention into you.)

Numbers : 1=Ichi 2=Ni 3= San 4= Shi/Yon 5= Go 6= Roku 7=Sichi(Nana 8=Hachi 9=Kyuu 10=Juu. No need to know more than that. 100= Hyaku. 1000= Sen. numbers such as 16, 29, 302, 1503, it would be done like: 16 = Juu roku. 29 = Nijuu kyuu. 302 = Sanhyaku ni. 1503 = Sen gohyaku san.

Age: you would actually have to add the specific number of you´re age and then add "Sai" in the ending.

Some vocabulary: Tsuki= moon. ("tsu" is like saying "Su" in english but with a diferent sound in the "S")
Haku=Snow/White (Depends in the sentence in which is used).
Aka= Red.
"""Desu""" (used in most sentence specialy like "This is" or "that" etc.... it is said "Des" as "Su" sounds like "S").
Ronin= samurai that has lost his lord.
Seppuku= Ritual that concludes in suicide to recover honour and pride only performed by high ranked people women couldn´t.
Bushido= Way of the Samurai.
Sakura= Cherry tree. Senbon= thin piercing object mostly used to assasinate.

Legend vocabulary:
Izanagi = The god of Birth
Izanami= The goddess of Death.
Susanoo= God with badass long sword (longer than sephiroths XD)
Amaterastu= Goddes "Sun"
Tsukuyomi= have little idea of him.
Yamata No orochii= Giant eight head snake killed by Susanoo

Yomi= Hell
Oni= a type of demonnic creature.
Famous characters:
The Muramasa clan= Smithers considered demonic by their Fatal Blades.
Masamune= Known as the best smither in japan and the teacher of one Muramasa.
47 Ronin (i think im correctly)= Samurais, known for their extreme loyalty as they were allowed to perform Seppuku infront of their lord, after they killed a daimyo.

This guide can be updated, specialy i would like players to post words or even correct those words i wrote. The purpose is to give more realism to this simulation of feudal japan.

Gonna fix some errors of yours

1: It wouldn't be Konichiwa, but Konnichiwa.

2: Konnichiwa is used only at afternoon. When it's morning, "Ohayou gozaimasu" is used, or just "Ohayou". When it's night time, "Konbanwa" is used.

3: It's Arigatou.

4: AFAIK, Hajimemashite is only used as "Nice to meet you".

5: Numbers would be "Ichi, ni, san, shi/yon, go, roku, shichi/nana, hachi, kyuu, juu".
Note: "Yon" is preferred over "Shi", as "Shi" can be read as "Death", too, so most people avoid using that way of saying "Four".
Note 2: More numbers: 100 = Hyaku. 1000 = Sen.
Note 3: To form, for example, numbers such as 16, 29, 302, 1503, it would be done like: 16 = Juu roku. 29 = Nijuu kyuu. 302 = Sanhyaku ni. 1503 = Sen gohyaku san.

6: It's not "Tsuky", but "Tsuki".

7: AFAIK "Haku" means "White" but maybe I'm mistaken.

8: A ronin would not be a samurai without lord, but a samurai which has lost his lord. It could also be the descendant of another ronin.

9: Just adding that Seppuku was reserved only for high ranged people (even higher than samurai), such as daimyo's, and women couldn't do it.

10: Oni's were more like ogres. Demons didn't really exist in japanese folklore.

11: They weren't 45 ronin, but 47.
Note: They didn't perform Seppuku in front of their lord. They first killed the responsable of forcing their lord to perform Seppuku. Afterwards, they were granted (by the shogun himself) the honor to perform Seppuku, as they were criminals for killing a daimyo.
