I really enjoy Role-playing as some type of artist along with whatever my character has going on in his life. My suggestion would be to add in some type of scrolls or paper that my character can do paintings or drawings on, along with the instrument of his trade such as paint brushes or any writing utensils.

Possibly for people that want to be musicians have a selection of certain sound bytes they can strike(or macro) to produce a noise from the instrument they choose to play, kinda like the "Solo" app for my droid phone.
